Final Reflection
1. I believe that I chose the right topic for my senior project. It was a very interesting topic to research on and to learn. I’m very satisfied with my progress throughout this project and am very glad that I picked this topic.
2. There was so much more that I could have mentioned in my research paper about the ways that meditation benefits you. There are tons of ways that meditation benefits you and I could only put so much on my research paper without feeling that I overcrowded it. So yes I do believe that I conducted enough research for my paper.
3. I revised my paper so many times that I think I re-wrote the whole paper about two times. I did start early enough to be able to make many corrections to make me satisfied with it.
4. I did ask Mr. Snyder for help while trying to create my power point presentation. There were many revisions that needed to be made and I was in need of help with correcting it.
5. My physical project is a chart of my heart rate before and after meditation, and multiple pictures of different styles of meditation. I believe that I probably could’ve done better with picking a physical project, but I am fully satisfied with my work.
6. My portfolio to me is great. It basically has all of my work that I’ve done throughout this project in it, and I believe that it is very professional. Using a website as my portfolio was definitely useful for this project and kept me very organized.
7. I put a lot of effort into writing my script for my speech; I actually wrote my script twice before I was satisfied with it. I don’t believe that I have practiced it enough to feel comfortable with presenting it though.
8. I feel very proud of all of the work and effort I’ve put into this project. I believe that it is the very best work that I could’ve done, and I’m very satisfied with my ending product.
9. The most challenging part of the senior project for me is definitely giving the 8-12 minute speech. I am not very big on public speaking and it’s very difficult for me to stand in front of multiple people and talk for 8 minutes.
10. The most significant skill that I’ve learned by the end of this project is of course how to meditate properly. It’s not very hard to learn but it’s pretty difficult to zero your concentration down on one emotion at a time.
11. I think that the research paper and the speech that I have to give are definitely going to prepare me for college. In college, I’ve heard, you have to write multiple papers that are either longer or just a little shorter than the paper that I wrote for this project. Practicing the speech has help me with my public speaking and I believe that it will help me in more than one way when I am in college.
12. I would of course give myself an A. Not just because that’s the grade that I want, but because of all of the effort I’ve put into this project this semester. I believe that I did the best I could on my graduation project, and I hope that is the grade that I get.

The toughest part about writing my research paper was not being able to use ownership words. Throughout my whole rough draft I use the word “you” on multiple occasions. I basically had to re-write most of my paper because of that issue. I would have definitely done better with my paper if I had knowledge of that fact that you can’t use ownership words while writing an informational paper.
Peer editing my paper definitely made my paper more complete. I was able to fix if not all, most of my mistakes. It also helped me understand how to write a research paper. After my paper was peer edited I was more able to help edit other’s papers since I had an idea of the right and wrong ways of writing a research paper.
One major part of my project that I still need to complete is my volunteer hours. I currently have 2 hours done with my mentor, but I still need the other 3 to feel comfortable about being able to complete it. I will do this by calling my mentor constantly until she finally answers my calls. Another major part of my project I need to do is have a good idea of my final presentation and speech. The speech is most likely going to be the toughest part for me. I am not a very good public speaker and sometimes stutter or blank during a speech. I will try to fix this by presenting my speech to a group of people as many times as I can before my final presentation.

My presentation hasn’t changed much this last six weeks. I am currently having problems with meeting with my mentor, so I haven’t had much to change in my presentation. I have constructed a couple of power points, one being posted on my web page. Other than that not much has been changed.
What needs to be changed the most on my current presentation is the mentor page. I haven’t been able to meet with her more than twice, so because of that I don’t have much to say on what I’ve learned from her.
What I’m most proud of on my most recent presentation is how much information I have acquired since I’ve first started my project. I’m much more informed on the ways that meditation can benefit a person’s life, and once I gather more information on the subject my next presentation will be much more informational. The only tricks I’ve learned about meditating is that it’s much easier to focus on breathing and calming down when only thinking about one thing.

Reflection 1: Intro Senior Project 9/16
At this point I am enjoying my experience with my senior project. I am learning all sorts of different things and expanding my knowledge on my subject pretty quickly. Having a whole class dedicated to my project is definitely a big help and is preventing me from my procrastinating ways. No one likes a big project like this one, especially when it’s a requirement for graduating. I am excited about meditating but it’s the long research paper that I am dreading the most. Other than that, I am enjoying this great learning experience.
I am pretty much keeping up with all of my work, since I am so dedicated to doing well on this project and graduating. The only thing that I can think of that I need to improve on is doing research outside of the classroom. I know I get most of my work done during class, but I also should start doing research and interviewing outside of school. I need to get started on an outline for my research paper so I can be ahead and get work done quicker. I also really need to get a flash drive so I can stop overfilling my Google documents.
I am doing well in keeping up with my work and getting it done when it needs to be done. When I am dedicated to something I work hard on it and put my best effort forward to completing it. I have everything copied and saved into my email account in case I lose anything. I’d say I am very devoted to passing this project with flying colors and graduating high school. All modesty put aside, I can say that I am doing well on my project in general.
